In the past decades, times have changed drastically. Whilst previously politicians were at power, nowadays tech developers are increasingly more impactful in the shape of our society. It is important for us to know how the billionaire visionaries view the world and what decisions they make in technology and it’s advancements.
According to economist Thomas Sowell there are two ways of seeing human nature. A utopian way which sees humans as generally good, whilst there is a tragic vision which sees us as incapable of using power for good.
I’m was however raised by science and history. And they tell us the tragic vision is more true, that people are generally selfish and ignorant. There are no perfect solutions, only imperfect trade-offs. For me, it’s about the right balance, not the utopian visions.

What is the view according to the ones in charge, and how do their visions combined look like?

Text notes
**”The economist Thomas Sowell proposed two visions of human nature. The utopian vision sees people as naturally good. The world corrupts us, but the wise can perfect us.”
for me this seems absolutely unrealistic and not logical. Within every system there are imperfections. It is good to keep a generally utopian vision but it is also important to stay within proportion.
**”Users, companies and countries were trusted not to abuse their new social-networked power. Mobs were not constrained. This led to abuse and manipulation."
To me it’s incredible how ignorant people can be, to just go with the system and be surprised when things go wrong.
